Cricket Canada AGM
Re: Cricket Canada AGM
If they really do live stream the AGM will give many more people a chance to
see what's going on with CC. Especially want to hear the audit and strategic
plan.

Re: Cricket Canada AGM
Most of the meeting is closed- see
https://cricketcanada.org/news-single?nid=118
This includes the financial statements and strategic plan discussions. The open part of the meeting is limited to:-
- Provincial Reports
- Announcement of the results
Unfortunate and not conducive to transparency, particularly as it pertains to the Strategic planning process.

Re: Cricket Canada AGM
^ Indeed this is why it would be interesting and possibly enlightening if the leadership of Cricket Council of Alberta were to be the representatives of that province at future AGMs. If they live up to their talk they would be much more likely to give an account of meeting proceedings. Currently, we are lucky to get summary of what was discussed. Cricket has not been well served by the lack of transparency. A shake-up is needed.
At least the financial statements for 2019 are supposed to be made public on the website ... unless the board chooses to ignore more rules.

"Most of the meeting is closed." Fully expected....this is how
Third World organizations always operate.

Re: Cricket Canada AGM
This is how the "Strategic Plan" part of the meeting will probably go:
"And now let's hear the report on the "Strategic Plan."
"Nothing to report."
"Thank you. Next order of business!"

Re: Cricket Canada AGM
Seems as though some people are intent on staying in control : http://www.canadacricket.com/?p=13301
However, arbitrators and the courts may undo their plans ... in time. Thankfully, one party is shining light on some of what CC would prefer were hidden. It doesn't look good that the governing body is becoming involved in arbitration on a regular basis.

Re: Cricket Canada AGM

Re: Cricket Canada AGM
Wonder who this Wall-Andrews person is. Web search shows she's one of these
people with a lot of degrees and titles but hard to nail down just exactly what they
do. Says she's "dedicated to advancing critical theory in policy and management
status to enable equity creation in highly inequitable settings." Whatever that
means. Anyhow, like to hear from her on just exactly what she brings to the table
with CC...or if this is just another title to pad her resume.
