The USA are 106/0 after 20. Canada is going to need Aaron J. to fire today.

Canada bowling again looking toothless. It is scary prospect if this is the norm rather than their debut League 2 series in UAE.

Is something up with Jeremy Gordon ? Not in the playing XI for the 2nd match running. He hasn't stood out in a good or bad way but has the big game experience factor over his replacement, Rishiv Joshi. Joshi should in playing the less important T20 series.

Bertus de Jong tweeting (X'ing ?) of potential discontent among the Canadians. Only "rumours" and no specifics are given but hardly surprising, if true. I would be more concerned if this team were content with their play and the off-field situation.

=========================================
update:
Canada chasing 275. Might be 25 too many but a solid start could change that. Canadian team low on confidence need to show themselves they can do it.

So the Netherlands League 2 series completely undoes Canada's great start. Now 4-4 with big concerns about the opening bowling's ability to take wickets. Hopefully, a home series will help in that regard. We should also worry about the return of Nick Kirton's confidence issues. The responsibilities of captaincy may have been too much. One of too many changes in a side that didn't need it ? Much to think about for Canada as they move on to the T20Is.

In the first T20I, Canada's lack of wickets is again a problem. Batting second, by the time the Dutch lost their 2nd wicket they were within 20 runs of victory. At the same point of first innings, Canada were 5 down.

Not sure why Joshi was not in the squad. He should be given the chance to learn when the match is of little consequence.

So Canada beat the Netherlands! That’s important because of T20i rankings. Maybe the no result against the USA helps too.

^ But why are T20I rankings important ? I think our route to the T20 World Cup goes through the Americas T20 championship regardless of ranking.

That aside, yes! Canada get their first win of a very disappointing Netherlands tour. It looked bleak with 6 wickets down and only 35 on the board. Movva has to be the early candidate for Canada MVP with another important score to rescue the situation with Saad. Cricket Canada have seemingly brought in Akhil Kumar, Rayyan Pathan and Parveen Kumar for the T20Is. They must hope Parveen's showing today can be reproduced in the longer format where it really matters for League 2.

Have to hope that win gives the team a boost to close out the tour against the USA and ready themselves for the home League 2 series. Without a new coach in place help fix the batting and bowling it will be another difficult ask.

*I'm glad the person writing the CC Facebook posts now has a win to work with ! It must have been tough to keep looking for positives and moral victories while losing 5 consecutive matches amidst underwhelming performances from several players.

Canada loses the last match and T20I of the Dutch tour.
Bowling was slightly better but again more wickets might have meant a different story.
Lack of runs from the new captain are consistently contributing to the losses. Decisions on whether Kirton should continue in the role have to be made - probably during or after the next series.
Shreyas Movva probably earns the honours as Canada's best player of the tour. Well done!
Once again Bin Zafar is the best bowler. I'll admit I thought he needed to be replaced as captain at the end of the 2024 so Canada could transition to new on-field leadership. However, this change appears to be too much for a team that does not yet have a depth of talent.

A new coach cannot come soon enough to help the likes of Thaker, Kirton and others turn in better performances. It's costing us games. Have to hope CC consults the right people to find a good replacement.
