Anyone see this: www.southasiandaily.com/cricket-is-comi ... h-schools/

I take it CC had nothing to do with this nor is any way involved (as expected).

CC has formed an umpires committee (sub committee?) and has the aim of standardizing qualifying across the country. It will be a good step if the result is a more formalized structure.

Big deal! Just more tinkering, which is all CC does! No initiates to bring in
more women, more native Canucks, or school involvement. Stadium in limbo. North American
cricket still the Nowhere Man! :x :x

We don't tour so we don't play. Malaysia that can't afford the rent for their top cricket facility still managed to tour Nepal. Uganda recently toured Namibia. In our region, Bahamas is touring Cayman Islands.

How is it Cricket Canada has no money to tour? No wonder we can't win big games. We haven't learned as a team how to win them.

No money because ICC handing it all to USACricket.
Can't win big games because best players going to States.
No money, no players, no games, no wins.

ICC Favorite Son: the biggest threat to CC. :( :(

What is wrong with Canada Cricket (now) ?

https://www.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news/1 ... -criticism

The dismissal (non-renwal of contract) of CC coach Pubudu Dassanayake is again in the rumour mill after initially being mentioned prior to the T20 WC. With little info to support this decision it seems like a bad move from the CC board. They must have someone in mind to take charge but can that person actually get more out of this group of players ?

Canada risks upsetting any semblance of stability on the field and their good start in the crucial League 2 campaign. Changing the team leadership at this stage is a high risk, low reward proposition.

Speaking of the board, they have had very little to say since taking over. It is very much back to what has long been wrong with Canada Cricket.

The Emerging Cricket Podcast of July 24th says Pubudu Dassanayake will probably see out the Netherlands/USA/Canada tri-series before being relieved of his duties. To no one's surprise, It is suggested he is the victim of Canadian cricket politics. Here we go again. We must hope this does not badly affect the side going forward. Tougher days are ahead for Canada in League 2 in the best of circumstances without the added problems of integrating with a new coaching system.

Released for a second time by a third-rate organization. Small-minded. Good luck to the coach for whatever lies ahead.
